Last year I visited an event in London to introduce me to the Cricut mini, I took Baby J with me and although I tried to concentrate it was more of a Baby J loving his life day and I managed to meet some lovely people one of whom being Blondie Blogging.
Yay 🙂 I was given the option to review this little mini crafting contraption and of course I said yes. I set it up, it was all very easy. I downloaded the software onto my laptop – also easy. I logged in, did my thing making what I wanted it to cut and press cut. Simple I thought.. I had followed the instructions, this thing is amazing.. Then when I went to iron onto my cushion cover what I had made it was backwards. I had forgotten to flip the words on my laptop because of course as it’s iron on it needs to be mirrored. Doh! As I had started it really late anyway I huffed and went to bed.
That was it for a few weeks then, it sat there mocking me, and I so wanted to play!!! But I didn’t want to waste any more of the iron on and so I nagged my friend Clare from Emmy’s Mummy of whom also has a Cricut and she gave me step by step photographed instructions!! How brilliant and I noticed a few things that I had done wrong the first time and so I packed it in my Dorie car and took me and my boys to my mums so that she could play(amuse the boys so I could play) too. And to be quite frank it was awesomeness, I think I may be addicted and I am in LOVEEEEEE with what I made.
Picture 2 top right is the iron on being inserted. Remember to face it shiny/glittery side down. Picture 3 bottom left is another reason I went wrong last time. I forgot you had to peel off the plastic covering and so was sat there basically ripping it and making a mess. This time after a little reminder from Blondie Blogging and my mum who laughed at me for being a moron I pulled it off. And voilaaa!!!
The cricut had cut out my design perfectly! So all I needed to do next was to tweezer off the design and place it matte glue side down ready to put the hot iron over which is pictured in the bottom right photo. So what did I make?? Here I’ll show you 😀 *excited drumroll*
I made a fuschia pink cushion with my favourite saying ‘Dream big, start small’ on it super glitter black iron on. The only way it could be just that little bit more perfect would be if it had a bow!! Maybe with my next one I’ll make a bow with A New Addition on.. ooow the possibilities!
Don’t you think it’s just amazing! Think of the pretty things you could make 🙂 You can buy yourself one for £99.99 so less than £100! Awesome 😀 Here is the link to the website: Cricut UK. Let me know if you get one! I would love to know what you are planning on making?
*I was sent the Cricut mini for the purpose of this post, all views are my own 100% honest opinon.. I mean my new cushion is tooo cute 🙂
