142 miles, 1 pitstop, fresh air, family, memories made and lots fun. This is our weekend holiday Road trip to Burnley.
Being much more prepared than usually I was able to pack things I usually tell myself off for not having when we go away, so this time we had our football! Having the ball was just so much fun. All 4 of us playing football, Andy made a goal from 2 sticks and I have to admit even I was getting stuck in being in goal and doing knee ups!? (Is that what they are even called? lol) Where we were staying when you step outside the door you are straight onto the park outside it’s fantastic.
We are very lucky that we were able to stay at Andy’s gran’s who has a lovely big hilly park with a little pond with ducks in. However this time me and Ky decided we would go adventuring and found a little bridge that took us to all sorts of amazing views!
How absolutely stunning is the above scene. Me and Ky literally felt like we were walking through a secret garden, on the side of the trampled path we spotted a little burrow I am guessing it was perhaps mice? However, I told Kylan it was where the elves lived. What a magical moment that was. He was so elated and it was just so lovely to spark his imagination of these little people.
Whilst still on our walk we ventured through the park and onto a road where we then had to use my iphone maps to help us find where Andy’s grans was again. Oh the joys of adventuring.
The building’s around the town are all so full of character, walking down the road we came across this old pub and I just felt the need to photo it. It just looks like it has seen many a good time. On our drive around we even came across an old warehouse that had a door on the outer exterior it must have been bricked on the inside so it couldn’t be put to use but the boys found it fascinating to see.
These flowers were literally planted along the side of a road we were driving down and it was just so beautiful I had to stop and photograph them, just as I was doing so another lady pulled up to admire them to and as we got talking she told me she was an artist and she was intending to paint them. It was just so nice to see such a pretty a field of bloom whilst driving down a road, such a pleasant and most welcomed change.
Until next time Burnley. Over and out.
