From the moment his tall, red and white striped hat appears around the door, Sally and her brother know that The Cat in the Hat is the funniest, most mischievious cat they have ever met, With the trickiest tricks and craziest of ideas. he turns a rainy afternoon into an amazing adventure. But what will mum find when she gets home?
Based on the much loved book by Dr Seuss. The Cat in the Hat is a lively and engaging first theatre experience for young children aged 3+. Expect towering hats. mischief and an imagination recharge.
The A New Addition family were invited to the Belgrade theatre in Coventry today to watch the first showing of the cat in the hat which will be on Saturday 30th October and Saturday 31st October with the time choices of 10.30am and 1.00pm.
Here’s a little tip which I learnt today, if you have a small child at The Belgrade Theatre you can hire a booster cushion for £1 that makes viewing much nicer for little legs.
Having taken J (4) and Ky (7) I would definitely recommend that this is for younger children and if you take your older children they are likely to not be so amused.. that is until the big balls come flying into the audience for everyone to roll about, because, well, Massive balls! Who doesn’t appreciate them!
J was connected with the cast all the way through, from clapping to the music, shouting along to questions being asked and being mesmerised by the cast running up and down the gangway high fiving and just trying to engage all of the audience.
Just so you are aware there is no interval in this show as it runs for the full 45 minutes so please do take your children to the toilet beforehand as to try and not miss some of it.
All in all this was a lovely family outing and because I was the one sitting next to J I was surrounded by all sorts of excitement, ky enjoyed how interactive it was and having fun with his little brother, I would definitely recommend you catch this show, especially if you have a preschool/stage 1 child 😀
