The best nights in life are the ones that weren’t planned, a little while ago Popchips asked me if I would be interested in running a light night in, where we were asked to create an evening of light dining with friends and family using the two new ingredients from the limited edition Popchips (Caramelised onion, rosemary or thyme) and ingredients we picked up ourselves. We were given an allowance of £50 and send a fun box of things to enjoy. However with it being christmas things took there time and eventually it was nearly deadline day (today).
As a blogger I am used to quick turnovers but I have never held a ‘party’ so quickly, however, I was really lucky as the football was on and Andy and some of his friends were round.
As they were already ‘merry’ I got the box of props for photo’s out and let them have a play, Andy’s uncle decided that the paper glasses really suited him, to the point he kept them on all night and then wanted to take them home.
As I left the lads messing with my photo props I told them I was going to go and make some tasty snacks based on the pop chips they were currently eating in the bowl.
In the knowledge of the sea salt, garlic and rosemary Popchips I decided to make some cheesy, garlic salt and rosemary chips. These are just frozen fry chips, who said you can’t have a fancy party at a moments notice!? Hey!!!! Who also said cheesy chips weren’t fancy! They went down a storm and were quickly demolished.
The little sparklers provided in our packs were enjoyed by the mini males of the house and me in the garden before bedtime. There is nothing better than the nights sky full of stars and a sparkler. Then as they got ready and tucked themselves into bed it was time for the now inebriated adult males to have their second course of Popchip related food.
My second round was delicious even if I do say so myself! It consisted of a bake it yourself baguette, caramelised in honey onions and yummy grilled sausage. Well, I thought the chips were demolished quickly but that didn’t compare to my posh sausage sandwich! I hadn’t made enough for their greedy bellies but it was nice to know that my quick turnover and random party was a hit and like I said, it’s always the most unplanned nights that are the best.
Thanks Popchips!
